I ran my 251 with 482 blower set-up, ran 82-84 but with handling issues, no ext steering, so pulled the engine and went back to a mild 509, there are a couple of high H/P 251's that run on the potomac, one ran 114 at the tim's 2 annual radar run a few years ago, here's pic of the pass...don't remember his name...Rob

Isn't that one of the boats posted in that 100mph thread on the Checkmate forum? That drive looks d*mn familiar.

It's the same boat but a complete re-rig of the engine and engine compartment. The hull is a 2001 and it has always been set up with a #6 drive.
Bill Nice lookin' rig! Get that thing to the LOTO Shootout. :coolcowboy: |

It was making about 1200 hp but it was impossible to keep a drive together so I decided to go up to a 300 and rig it with a #6. The engine is now making over 1500hp. I use a Bam 1500 dry sump tranny and the drive is a 1:24 ratio. We're still doing prop testing and think that the boat will be in the area of 115-120.

I have seen a best of 114 but that was before upping the power to the current levels. We use Big Stuff3 engine management and also control boost with the ecu.
Only part I don't like about your boat is it gets to speed so fast and then the funs over already. :drink: Ahhhh can't wait for summer. Jon |

Check300, I believe I met you up on Hardy the day after Hot Boat. I was on a friend's 29 Powerquest. That is a sweet setup you have! Make any changes since then?
