Prop help on 270
 

Looking for a little help on a 270. A friend of mine bought an 02 with a 496 (not ho). He is asking me about props for it but I don't know anything about these boats. Do they like 4 blades?

my 26ZT runs best with a 4 blade. if i was going to do it again i would call merc and get a 24p labbed prop right from them and call it a day.
mines an 03 26 with a 496 mag (not ho)

My 253 (which is the same boat as his 270) likes the 4 blade Bravo 1 I am running. I have a 502 Mag MPI and turn the 24P 4 blade B1 at 5000 rpm.
I spoke to Mike Combs at Checkmate and he reccomended for overall performance i stick with what I have.

I had a 259 Convincor w/ a mildly pepped up 454MAG. The two best props for the boat were a labbed 26 and a stock 24 Bravo 1. The labbed 26 was a little faster at WOT but the stock 24 planed better, accelerated faster and I liked the thicker blades for durablitly. Go with a stock 24 B1, that would be my vote!

I would stick with a non labbed bravo 1 Checkmates seem do best with these for all around performance
