Coles Point Poker Run '09. We were barely moving- All the boats were heading out to the start location, and I saw a few waves and just accelerated through one. Didn't know the photographer was behind me... My wife is standing up so that tells you how slow we were going.
A 25' Convincor is a fun ride! http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s21/bftstam/cppr.jpg |

Running the LOTO Shootout this year...
Saturday, 2nd run. 73mph. Can hear/see the chopper coming up on me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUm9eWjGaEA&NR=1 Sunday, 1st run. Windy day and more chop. Wanted to pick up a mph with the extra chop, but didn't happen. A little frustration. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh3nTHTbHow |

Can we get in on this.............1990 25' Convincor, race lay up.
|
very cool shots , thanks for posting good to see a Checkmate offshore racing, just curious about your race layup. factory or yourself. im thinking the hull is production spec?? hand layed balsa cored.. race layup= hull and deck were glassed together and then extra bulkheads were installed. Checkmate builds a nice boat, good luck at the race.

Thanks! Yes its a factory race layup. It has a 1" raised X already and is re-enforced in the cabin area with 2 additional bulkheads. Could probably have used 3. We cut the factory bulkhead out and moved it forward like 12". It sure gives us plenty of room to pull the engine complete and maintain it!! Then we made a custom hatch to fit. Also wish they didnt use balsa! The boat got a crack in it and soaked the balsa with water. NOT GOOD!! But it runs well.

Don't know who this is, but they deserve a spot in this thread. From Jayboat on Shootout weekend.

Keytime, I was thinking the same thing when I saw that. There were a couple of good shots of that guy from shootout weekend.

And another, video is being taken off the Bat Boat (Try Me) owned by C_Spray here on OSO. Powered by Ilmor 725/ Indy (hence the quick acceleration)
