ZT240 vs 259

I have a ZT240 and looking at 2000 259 w/ 502mag. What would be the differences in ride and speed. Was is the actual hull length of the 259? Can I expect 70 on GPS?

259

Pureattitude,
I think a 259 will run upper 60's with a 502 on gps.As far as the ride goes ,the 259 is 25ft without S/platform 27 overall. You will see a much better rough water ride.

I have a '99 259 with a stock 454 magnum with the exception of Gil Exhaust. I see 67 on G.P.S. spinning a 24 Bravo 1 4 blade at 5000 r.p.m. I would think that with the addition of my Gil exhaust, my horsepower would be about the same as that 502 you are looking at.

If you're really in the market there's a nice 2001 270 with 496 mag ho on boattrader at a good price. Only 40 hours on it, 74 mph GPS. I think it was a Boathouse Performance auction boat last year.

I also saw this boat, nice looking rig. I don't remember this boat at the auction.

270 convincor

hey guys; i hate to bust your bubble, but a 270 with a 496 will not run no where close to 74 mph. it will run somewhere around 66-68 mph at best. bill:confused:

HiPerf2000 06-14-2002 08:51 AM

You beat me to it Bill :D .....I was going to say the same thing!

proving again ya can't believe everything you read. On that note, PA240, what are you getting out of your zt240? My 97 carb 454 gets to about 63 on speedo, with 3/4 tank of gas.
