I was on ebay today and seen a Checkmate Catamaran for sale I did even know they ever tryed building a cat anybody ever run one

Funny, the molds for this boat are 5mi from my house, we have joked many times about building one.

Those mold were designed by George Linder! From what I've read through the years only 3 were built and they were all outboard models. That boat has been converted to I/O.

I'd rather have the molds than the boat. Would they maybe be for sale?

Please at least get us some pictures. Thanks.

i work for the shop that has the molds. ive been trying to find a picture on google but cant find anything to see what the boat might look like. molds are in REAL rough shape... but im thinking about pulling one

Wow, thread comes back to life after 2 years! Only a few Checkmate cats were ever built. The one that was on ebay was converted to I/O power. There was a black twin engine outboard that was raced. The molds were designed by George Linder (Challenger, Awesome Cat, Chris Cat, etc.). Not sure what took place but there was a breakdown between Checkmate and the guys that built the molds thereby killing further development and production of any more Checkmate Cats...

I tend to agree! There are many Checkmate owners that would love to get their hands on one of these old Cats! They are very rare..only a few were built. The hull mold was designed by George Linder!

I believe there is a black outboard at K&K boats in Island Park NY. Not sure of its status , believe it had twin 200's. This one was not a bad looking boat I think they are 25' in length.
