What is the difference between the ZT and Convincor ??? I am looking at a 2003 Checkmate and the seller is telling me that it is a 260 Convincor...well checkmate didn't make a 260 Convincor - they made a ZT-260 and a 270 Convincor...any help would be GREATLY appreciated...thanks !!!

Convincor has a flat transom. Zt has a molded in swim platform.

there was a 260 convincor http://www.nadaguides.com/Boats/2002...mate-Boats-Inc . i would guess ??it was just the 242 convincor renamed when it became fashionable to add 2 ft for the swim platforms. but like OLD Navy said the differance between the convincor and the ZT line is the molded in swim platform VS the bolt on

I had a 1995 253 (same as newer convincor 270) and now have a 1999 ZT280. The ZT is only a foot or fotr and a half bigger but definately feels like a bigger boat. Both ride about the same in the chop but the ZT seems to ride much more level, my 253 used to lean a lot and porpoise, always needed the tabs to keep it from porpoising, the ZT sometimes I drag the left tab a little to keep it running level. The ZT seems to have more room in the cockpit and is definately much deeper in the back seat. As stated above the ZT's have a molded swim platform instead of a bolt on. Overall I like everything about the ZT better. Love the boat!

BOTH are awesome boats! Checkmate knows how to build them. Whichever one is the best overall bang for the buck would be my choice. Nothing "wrong" with any of the options checkmate offers.

my 03 26 zt is for sale. i love the boat but im looking to go bigger.
the zt has a lot more room in the cockpit for sure then the conv, and cabin is a tad bigger. pretty sure its because the zt is a bit wider then the conv.
