Rev 4 Props On A Checkmate??
Has anyone tried one of these props on a checkmate yet? i switched from a mirage to a hydro and i like it but sometimes i dont feel like i can get the bow high enuff(i know too high with mirage not high enuff with hydro) somewhere i read the rev4 was a couple mile an hour faster than a mirage plus but ran at a lower rpm. What would be anyones experiences with this prop? by the way think i will be selling the hydrop since its a tad too big for me. 24 p balanced and slightly labbed$300 plus shipping.

Rob, I am wondering the same about the Rev 4. Rod Dash(Perf Marine in Oskosh) has advised me to try a 23 pitch Rev4. I have to go down so much in pitch because the Rev4 has more diameter and I guess gets better bite.
If you find one maybe we can both try it. I'll let you know if I find one too.
My 27 pitch Hydro is for sale.

Eric i saw your add for the prop saying you would trade for a 23 rev 4. Just how many sizes do you have to drop when going to one of these props? a 23 mirage plus spins right to 5000 on my boat does this mean i am going to have to get a 21 or 19 rev 4??

Dave what was your experience with rpms and the rev4? and how does the turbo 3 blade compare to a mirage plus?? i read that the rev4 should be a couple mph faster than a mirage plus but that is hard to believe.

Rob, I was suprised to hear that also. But according to Rod Dash the Rev has much more diameter. I guess that's the reason the such a big pitch drop. I doubt it'll do much for top speed but it would be interesting to see what it'll do for midrange speed and handling. I really wanna try a stock 25 Hydromotive also. Thursday Im gonna try a stock 26 Hydro that I got from Laster. My current 26 is labbed and I think it slips a lot.

Rob,
The rev 4 was not any faster then the mirage plus but was alot smoother at lower speeds. The rev4 had a better crusing speed.I think I tryed a 21 rev ( demo).I get more rpm'sand speed from the turbo then the mirage plus. Both were 23 pitch but the turbo is smaller diam. .
