Default 251 seat base width?

Can anyone tell me how wide you rear seat base is?
The rotten one in my boat had been rebuilt once already and don't know if they had made it the same as original was.
Thanks in advance

Don't know if it is the same or not but the base on my 1991, 281, is 67-3/4 long by 18-1/4 deep. If you can't find an answer here check the checkmate fourm. It may also help to know what year.

It's a 1990.
Is it narrow enough so that it can be slid forward between the side panels?
What's the beam on the 281?
251 is only 85", and current seat base is 65-1/4.
Have the question up on check forum as well, but not much activity over there..

Boat is 85 at the chines. I don't rember anymore if it will slide between the side boxes or not...been apart too long. I kinda wish I would have made it a bit longer than stock anyway. Once the top part of the seat is out you can just angle the base to get it out depending on where the stuff in your engine compartment is. I will check with a friend that has a 251 to see if he can measure his.

I was thinking about making it as wide as possible, but I remember being able to get the base out which was nice when having to service the sea pump..

Looks like mine could slide out originally. But it probably depends on you side boxes. I wouldn't be surprised if the side boxes measurments are different from boat to boat. May be ahead to throw the side boxes in and just measure the distance...

Just did that.
I've got 66" between.
Thinking to go 65-1/2 to leave just a little room to get it out easier

Your boxes are much wider than mine which are 6".
I went with the 65-1/2". Just have to decide how I want to divide it up.
