Starflite...quick response please
1 Attachment(s)
Hi guys....going to look at a new "toy" tomorow. It is a 1988 Starflite with a Evinrude XP-200. The boat looks like new in the pics. I need some input on weaknesses to look for in this boat and any opinions on the Starflite in general. Also the boat has a Evinrude XP-200, hours and history unknown. Any opinions? I have always had I/O's so this is new territory for me.
Asking price is $4,500 Thanks Gary |

Re: Starflite...quick response please
Good boat good ride. About 55-60 with that power. outboards are different than the I/O. I love them both. Cant stop the sound of the big cams in the big blocks....or the scream of a 7000 rpm outboard! its all sweet. Just check the transom for rot and the outboard for compresion and drivability. Greg

I looked at last weekend.....Transom was UGLY. Rest of the boat was pristine though. It was a shame. I guess that was why it was such a good deal.

Re: Starflite...quick response please
Yeah, that trans. sucks.
I have a 90 Starflite, exactly the same colors, but transon is beautiful. I get tons of compliments on her. I run a 200 merc, which is currently at the shop now. Swallowed a reed on one cylinder, scored the bores. I guess it will be down for 2-3 weeks. Ouch, that will hurt. |
