Had a 16 ft with a 6 inch set back and a Looper 140 jonson(2.0l) 1980 boat with original transom traded it in 95 for another c-mate. I will own nothing else.

I had a 80 enchanter and a 88 starflite, both with big v6's. I beat the balls off both boats running in rougher water than I should have been in for years and only had the usual cracks in the corners. I was told the cracks were only in the white gelcoat (cause it doesn't flex) on top and there is nothing to worry about.
