X2, i wonder if it is going to have arnesons on it like warpath....

Bad Ass TA WS6 09-10-2013 08:47 AM

Awesome!

offshorexcursion 09-10-2013 10:40 AM

Super happy for them!

Thanks for the pictures and updates. Love those Arneson's hopefully they use them again.

Funny how the Checkmate 43 Punisher was built and then all of a sudden chief starts building boats again. Weird how that all played out.

Saw the Checkmate in person this past weekend at Hot boat Hardy Dam and WOW is it a beautiful boat! Looks like it runs across the water perfect!

Don't quote me as fact but I believe they're going to be Indy's.

If you make note, this one has a notched transom.

From what I understand, CM wanted to build one so they leased the mold to them and later the dealership and CM deal fell apart. The CM build and the Chief Warpath deal were completely different and neither was dependant on the other. Warpath was brokered directly with Bobby and his client specifically for the overseas races. The success of Warpath is resulting in additional builds, clients and dealers. Stay tuned!

A notched transom is no indication for Arnesons or not.

This boat is getting Ilmor's drive as the dealer wanted it.

Panther 09-10-2013 07:03 PM

Hopefully they will use your drives on another build in the future. It worked well for their setup.

Bobby told me about the Indy's.

Thanks.

It would be nice to have a Chief section. That way we wouldn't have to search for this thread for updates.

Agreed!

Looks like there's a little "baggin" going on today! For now I'll try to keep up as much as I can on this but if they get their own section they'll do the uploads on their own.

What do you reckon a Hull & Deck Weigh?

Panther 09-13-2013 01:06 PM

No idea... I think Warpath came in at 9700 fully rigged? It was laid up pretty heavy with the Carbon Fiber and Kevlar specifically for racing so who knows?

The website says 10500 for the 42.

I think that's what they were expecting on the Warpath but it came in underweight. Perhaps the pleasure version will come in at 10,500?

If OSO gives them their own section I'm sure we'll get more info as they contribute.

I think Roger 1 has been asked to make some custom heavy duty Bolster stands for this boat.

Rick G 09-16-2013 02:19 PM

RG.

Power bolster stands with some custom touches for this boat.

fastdonzi 09-16-2013 04:21 PM

So far it looks like it's just Glass

Panther 09-16-2013 04:47 PM

I'm going to take a wild guess and say its a solid bottom with no coring. From conversations I've had in the past their goal is not o build and ultra light layup like some of the other manufacturers have. Now stringers and everything else that would be wood in older boats, that I'd guess is customized. Warpath was Carbon/Kevlar if I remember correctly.

kvogt 09-16-2013 05:54 PM

thanks for posting build pics. Please keep them coming.

Panther 09-16-2013 07:31 PM

I got some info about the bottom to answer a couple of questions, it is not cored. The layup is a mix of a Hybrid weave, Kevlar and Carbon Fiber. The sides and the rest they use a Structured Core material, no wood. Same as Warpath.

Looking foreward to the updates.

Who's doing the build?

Bob Saccenti is managing the build.

Panther 10-08-2013 11:31 AM

It's been a long time since I posted pics in this thread because it's a PITA without having a manufactures section. Anyhow, here's a link to their facebook page where pictures are posted regularly (as early as yesterday) so you can check in for updates as you like; https://www.facebook.com/pages/Chief...72083309546202

Bad Ass TA WS6 10-08-2013 11:54 AM

Thanks for the link

LOL. Just that answers about 150 questions on how good this build will be. So great to see Bob doing something that he has been really great at for a long time. This boat is already a winner.

Leaving Montana this weekend for Florida, hope to be down there when this comes out of the mold.

with the way warpath performed, why would the owner of this boat not rig it just like warpath, it put up insane speed numbers with only 700s. and the arnesons are bullet proof and low maint compared to conventional drives... just my .02, rm

I'd be glad to keep posting them if OSO decides to give them an owners section which they rightfully deserve in my opinion. They had one once before... We were told it was up to the community and I believe the community has spoken in many instances. :-)

Is this the same Bob Saccenti that was in a boat crash in 1986?

doesn't seem like it....in the meantime the community suffers and that's very unfortunate for the OSO customer base....

Oh well, there's roughly 16 new pictures posted on their company Facebook page.. Enjoy!
