Awesome!

Super happy for them!
Thanks for the pictures and updates. Love those Arneson's hopefully they use them again. Funny how the Checkmate 43 Punisher was built and then all of a sudden chief starts building boats again. Weird how that all played out. Saw the Checkmate in person this past weekend at Hot boat Hardy Dam and WOW is it a beautiful boat! Looks like it runs across the water perfect! |

If you make note, this one has a notched transom. |

Don't quote me as fact but I believe they're going to be Indy's.
If you make note, this one has a notched transom. This boat is getting Ilmor's drive as the dealer wanted it. |
Hopefully they will use your drives on another build in the future. It worked well for their setup.
Bobby told me about the Indy's. Thanks. |
It would be nice to have a Chief section. That way we wouldn't have to search for this thread for updates.

Looks like there's a little "baggin" going on today! For now I'll try to keep up as much as I can on this but if they get their own section they'll do the uploads on their own. |
What do you reckon a Hull & Deck Weigh?
|
No idea... I think Warpath came in at 9700 fully rigged? It was laid up pretty heavy with the Carbon Fiber and Kevlar specifically for racing so who knows?

The website says 10500 for the 42.
If OSO gives them their own section I'm sure we'll get more info as they contribute. |
I think Roger 1 has been asked to make some custom heavy duty Bolster stands for this boat.

So far it looks like it's just Glass
|
I'm going to take a wild guess and say its a solid bottom with no coring. From conversations I've had in the past their goal is not o build and ultra light layup like some of the other manufacturers have. Now stringers and everything else that would be wood in older boats, that I'd guess is customized. Warpath was Carbon/Kevlar if I remember correctly.
|
thanks for posting build pics. Please keep them coming.
|
I got some info about the bottom to answer a couple of questions, it is not cored. The layup is a mix of a Hybrid weave, Kevlar and Carbon Fiber. The sides and the rest they use a Structured Core material, no wood. Same as Warpath.

It's been a long time since I posted pics in this thread because it's a PITA without having a manufactures section. Anyhow, here's a link to their facebook page where pictures are posted regularly (as early as yesterday) so you can check in for updates as you like; https://www.facebook.com/pages/Chief...72083309546202
|
Thanks for the link

with the way warpath performed, why would the owner of this boat not rig it just like warpath, it put up insane speed numbers with only 700s. and the arnesons are bullet proof and low maint compared to conventional drives... just my .02, rm

I'd be glad to keep posting them if OSO decides to give them an owners section which they rightfully deserve in my opinion. They had one once before... We were told it was up to the community and I believe the community has spoken in many instances. :-)

Is this the same Bob Saccenti that was in a boat crash in 1986?
