The pics appear to be at Loggerhead Marina in Riviera Beach (about 30-35 miles from Palm City). I thought it was a CL scam but they have the same pics/price in both ads.

I have always loved this boat. Why does it come up for sale so often?

Griff 05-18-2014 03:19 PM

Same person has owned it for quite a while. Just different listings.

Payton 05-18-2014 03:36 PM

Well, it is getting closer to my realm of boating.

The price is getting better and the motors/interior were just refreshed! Previous prices were higher and if the boat was in need of a few bucks refreshing things then it really was priced too high. Remember the 43 Punisher w/700's was very reasonable when it finally sold also......one off boats don't = high prices! :D

Technically Chief 42's are still being made so it wouldn't be exactly a "one off"

I believe the person who owns the boat currently lives in Florida. It's not the old owner. I believe the boat was sold well over a year ago and a half ago if memory serves me correctly.

Damn this an awesome boat.

I don't understand why you would put that much money in it and then sell it cheaper than it was probably bought for but do love the boat.

dockrocker 07-03-2014 11:45 PM

Is the hull on this boat the same as the new 42s, or have there been changes/updates? What speed does it run with the 950s?

Prior to purchasing the Chief I was planning on building a commercial fishing boat and was done with go-fast boats for a little while. Boat builder was overbooked and I was looking at a couple years before I could get what I wanted. So I bought the Chief, went though it from front to back, and made it like new. About a month after getting the boat perfect and spending a ton of money, the commercial boat builder calls and tells me one of the buyers backed out on his slot and if I wanted to buy it. Timing couldn't have been worse for me. So I put the Chief up for sale at a heavy financial lose, hoping to be able buy that slot.

Thanks J for all the info, it's a beauty. Does anyone else have any info on this vessel (i.e. origin of purchase, maintenance records, etc.) I am pretty familiar with it but have noticed it's not exactly something you can find a value for on NADA and most insurance co have no records or idea about what a Chief boat is.

Welcome to the world of custom boats, that's a lot of boat for the money. Banks usually don't understand the value of machinery like this. Reference the new chief 42s for pricing
