I don't know specifics yet but I think it might be going to a dealer. Outboard power I'm pretty sure. Bob Saccenti commented on the Defender/Chief relationship previously, see below;

These same molds are used to build the "Chief Edition Scout" for Chief Powerboats to complement our dealer line for name sake. I am personally overseeing Defender Powerboats in Phil’s absence. He was asked to return back to Afghanistan for a short stay and will be back before Christmas to continue working on his personal 21' Scout. I spoke to him this morning and he said all is well BUT the rocket and mortar attacks really annoy him while he is trying to do his job.

I remember reading that one now, thanks. Can this boat be built for a single/sterndrive application?

Good question. I would assume anything is possible since some of the early Scouts, like mine, had I/O's. However, the later model Scouts were built for O/B's and early model Scouts had a different deck than this version with windshield and cockpit further forward to make room for the engine compartment.

Here are a few more new pics.

This is an early model Scout (my boat) and below that is the late model Scout with updated Deck. If you want one built with an I/O let me know and I can see what they can put together.

What is the size? Looks similar to a Cigarette 20. Great to see a smaller performance boat being built.
