That sounds about right from all the info i ave read and heard about them with the small blocks. The bigblock will break you into the mid 60's if its stock. I have never had mine on the water since i bought it with no engine or drive.....and once its done it will have about 420-450hp....so i dont know what its gonna be doing yet. People have said it should run it the high 70's with the right prop!

I have the 260, with a cam job and a few other minor things done (person i bought it from claimed 300hp, but i doubt it) and a 23 pitch ballistic prop. It runs 60 on gps with one person. Its an older engine, so i done run it wide open for more than a short period of time.

Mine is for sale. I was planning on selling it at the end of the summer, but for the right offer, it could go now.

I would describe it as in good enough shape to use for the summer, but needs cosmetic work. Its an ongoing project for me. I'm having a new sunpad covered as we speak, and i am putting in rubber flooring this weekend.

I have an outboard model with a 2.4 Bridgeport not sure of the hp, but ran this weekend hit 53 with GPS. Still have not got the jack plate to work.

if you get a 222 stinger in the 70's better hold on!. i had one w/ stock 365 magnum that ran 60 when i got but motor was sh$t..put a new 454 mag in and ran 60...went to 750 holley...62...crane134241{i think} cam..still 62...23p merc mirage plus 62 and wild....finally puy stainless exhaust on and it was like a new boat...rocket out the hole and saw 68 gps...but was a ***** to drive to it..it did finally lift up and ride like it was on 1" of the vee. u also should put a straight edge on the last 24" of the strakes..cc built my 87 with a hook to keep the bow down which i took out and was glad i did....hope this helps!
