Re: Own a Stinger or a Scorpion? Stingerfest 2005.
There was a Stinger/Scorpion thread over on SW.
Several people over there (actually... I think that there are more Stinger owners on the other site...) are into the idea as well. All together, there seems to be more than 10 Lake Erie Stingers/Scorpions on the two forums that seems interested. Will be interested to hear what Glassdave thinks. |

The differences are just things that you would expect to change from year to year anyway. I have a rounded windshield more like a fairing. Dave has a more traditional windshield. Most stuff is very similar. Mange |

thanks ra
man i hafta check out this part of the forum more often. im in for stingerfest. when ever where ever :D Jon the thunder fest was great. i stayed all weekend. brought the race boat and the Stinger. cant wait for this years. by the way i am at riverview this year. should have the boat in pretty soon. hows your boat doing? i hear they started doing some work at LP on some sort of a club house an pool  |
Re: Own a Stinger or a Scorpion? Stingerfest 2005.
Hi Dave,
I am going back to LP. (Not for the clubhouse or whatever....) I am living down near Maumee this year, instead of the "west end." This adds about 15 minutes each way to the boat, so I went with LP so that I don't have to do the 15 minute crawl out the Ottawa, (each way) too. But man.... $1,225 for a slip for three months kind of sucks. But it also is a really easy dock to get into and out of by myself with that blind spot for a swim platform. :D I took the boat out solo last year more than with people. Nice to have a slip I can get in and out of really easy without chewing stuff up. So I will be at the same place at LP that I was last year. (near Tizbad) I went to Thunder on the River two out of the three days in 2004. I would go back. The best part is that you could come and go. On my boat... I am doing exhaust manifold gaskets and some hoses but nothing big this year. The last four years I have tackled big projects (engine swaps, cams, manifolds,) on one or the other of the boats. This year I am trying not to get crazy. But I would like fresh power. Maybe 2006. This year I am going for an earlier splash. Maybe in a week or ten days. Even though I don't PLAN a bunch of work, it IS a boat.... so we'll see if the boat is as ready to get wet as I am. I have already serviced the drives and done the engine oil. There is always a list.... but with any luck my list will be short this spring. |
Re: Own a Stinger or a Scorpion? Stingerfest 2005.
Hey Mange,
I think I see what you mean. I will have to raft off of Dave this year so I can get a side by side view. :D Maybe my deck is higher. |
Re: Own a Stinger or a Scorpion? Stingerfest 2005.
I need to check here more often too...fund, let me know if you get something lined up, if I'm available I'd head down that way.

Re: Own a Stinger or a Scorpion? Stingerfest 2005.
Wish I could go--I've got a Scorpion 168  I don't think it will do very well in the rough stuff. Maybe someday I can upgrade.
