Jeff,
Has anyone taken you up on the swim platform yet?

jeff32 03-04-2007 07:47 AM

no

I've been considering switching out my teak one for the fiberglass job. What do you want for it?

I bought the blue Stinger that was on ebay last May in the Toledo, Ohio area. The boat was cheap enough but needs some major work, contrary to the ebay ad. I was thinking about changing out the platform when I dive in to the rest of the repairs it needs. Thanks, Bill

roughly what it is gonna cost in 2x3 wood to make a crate to ship it!

CCstinger260 03-05-2007 06:06 PM

That's plenty cheap enough! I'll check tomorrow to see what the shipping is to get it here. Is there Fed-Ex or anyone that would pick up from you so as not to inconvenience you? Anndd-mine's an '83 not an '84. I know that won't make a difference on the fit though.

I'll try to check in the next 2 or 3 days... lot of work to do at the dealership but I'll let you know.

Jeff, Can you give me a ballpark idea of the length width and height dimensions, and the weight also? I'm thinking that Forward Air may be the way to ship it. The airport they use is about 30-45 mins. from St. Hyacinthe, but they offer pickup service in some areas, so that would be a way to do it with as little inconvenience to you as possible if they do in your area.
On another note, I've read over your posts on your transom job in your Formula-have you had to do anything like that with your Stinger? I have some de-lam starting with my transom that I'm going to address when I pull the engines and drives to put in motor couplers. I'm thinking of using the 30lb composite from Coosa. Do you know anyone who has went that route? Thanks, Bill

i would not use Coosa for a transom, its great for everything else but not good for high compression.
