Value of Boat??
First, I am aware that my boat isn't worth that much, but here goes:
I have a 1986 Chris Craft 222 Stinger I bought new. It's been garaged more than half it's life. It's in good but not excellent shape with a trailer. Here's the problem. I'm looking at a Cigarette Bullet and the wife has decreed that I MUST sell the Stinger first but there is no engine in my boat now. Last engine was a 406CI small block a few years ago that cracked a cylinder. I have to decide to sell with or without an engine and if with engine, how hot an engine? So my options are: 1. Sell boat and outdrive (My guess on value 2K to $3500) 2. Put a mild engine in (Spend 3K-4K and sell maybe 6K) 3. Put a decent hot engine in (Spend 5K-6K and get maybe ??) Looking straight at the numbers, it looks like I should just sell boat and trailer and whatever parts I have as-is, but can I even sell it like that? I see larger boats sold without power. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to let the Bullet get away. I also put this thread under the general Q & A |

Re: Value of Boat??
I seen a 86 222 stinger with new paint and NO engine, on a trailer on ebay last fall. It sold for about $5800. So that will give you a good idea.

Re: Value of Boat??
Looks like I have it sold to a friend. I really think it's a win-win for both parties at 2500 or for at least the buyer. Now it's out off my garage....
You figure: Merc prop=150 Hydromotive prop=400 Nose cone-100 Trailer=1000min Engine parts=750min Alpha drive=750min You get the boat for free! NOW I can buy my new toy!!! Bullet, here I come! |
Re: Value of Boat??
I can't wait to get to swapping the stuff over from the old boat.... :D
