St. Louis Boat Show

Just went to the boat show this past Saturday and spent a lot of time gathering ideas for the stinger and I've just got to say...my 260 has more cabin / cockpit room than 75% of the
powerboats I climbed in.

I was in a 35' Outlaw, was ok, but the v berth was worthless. 35' Fountain lightening and 39' Donzi...couldn't even sit up on the cabin couches...head hit the ceiling. Now granted, I don't spend a good part of the day in the cabin, but when I'm paying $200,000 for a boat, I BETTER be able to sit upright comfortably. I was shocked and disappointed at the same time since I've always wanted a Fountain.

My stinger might not be as fast or flashy, but it's a LOT more comfortable and just seems to ride much bigger than it really is. Just my two cents. Normally boat shows make me want to get rid of my current ride, but I came away feeling a LOT better about it.

While we're on the subject, I went on saturday too. A couple observations:
1) The chris craft express cruisers (retro look) were one of the few interesting things to see there.
2) The other was the Merc Ace (NXT or whatever you call it). Nice package and I would love to be able to buy the tranny as a stand alone item. At 30 lbs and about 1/2 the length of a Velvet Drive, it would go great with speedmasters, ASDs, etc.
3) As a regular LOTO boater, I NEVER want to see another Sea Ray express cruiser, even on land:p
