Chris Cat Conversion
Has anyone converted a Chris Cat to Bravo's or put boxes on? Just curios as to how they would run with a newer setup.

The American Offshore 3100 is a lighter layup of a chris cat with bravos.
There was an American Ofshore with Bravos that used to run around 130mph at LOTO. However, he had to move the engines forward and use a short driveshaft. I think the COG of the design was intended for engines mounted farther forward than a traditional bravo setup, as opposed to the transmission/SSM setup. The boats are still pretty fast with transmissions and speedmaster for a 25 year old design. Gary |
I was thinking the same way. Leave the engines in the same place and run a jack shaft with boxes & shorties. I have SSM 3's on my Cig now and am starting to worry about getting parts without having to donate a kidney.
