SO the Bravo 1 showed up today for the 202 stinger

:evilb: Hope to stick this thing on at the end of the year, to replace the alpha... We are going to put a procharger on the lil small block, the alpha isn't goin to like it.. Want to run 100mph in this boat, it def has it in it.. We are sitting at about the 80 mark on gps now.. 600 hp should get us a lil bit closer.... Also gona add some K planes to it to settle it down just a bit..

Jesus! I have work to do if I want to stay faster than you! :lolhit:

Are you going to fit a shorty to the drive?

My X dimension is at 4.5" with my Bravo 1 now if that helps?

the K Planes are probably a good idea. I've been thinking of a set myself. Have you removed that bow ballast from yours?

Here's my B1 set up...

Looks good man. Not sure yet on the shorty. Think were just going to try the standard out first, depends on $$$ LOL... If we can get a extension box, we may try a shorty out, but think a shorty on a reg gimble will be to far out of the water.. Yes that was the first thing I did when I got the boat.. Ran 50 mph with the v6, was a blast.. Now the small block it is even more fun, but you def have to drive it... Like mentioned, the bravo will be able to handle the power of the blown small block, so hope to pick up some mph... Currently turning a 30p bravo with 1.89 gears(alpha), still will tap the rev box.. The 202 has 100mph in it... Waiting on the new bolsters to get covered now :) So I don't have anymore unexpeted ejections... lmao. That was a ride

I have a 230 sl limited with a 454 330 hp and an alpha from the factory. Currently putting on an original alpha ss with a stern jack and k planes, I dont expect to see 80, my alpha is 1.5 to one. but that can be changed. What prop do you think I should start with? How much hp are you running thru the stock alpha? Is 60 outa line? :drink:

Not sure on what pitch you would need, but def less then a 26p with stock power.. I have puked one alpha, this is number 2 lol, I don't hole shot it or beat it down low.. We fig it to be some where around 350+ hp... Good luck finding a SS and a stern jack.. We have looked all over the place for the jacks and they are just not out there.. We found some SS but they want $$$ for them.

GHOST what are you running speed wise??

Hell a B1 will live forever in a 20ft boat that weights 1600 lbs

My plans are to run a solid 80mph in anything. I've got a 5 blade 23p on it at the moment (1.50 gears) so that's achievable and I've got a Mirage Plus 25p 3 Blade for top speed I've yet to test. I'm stil breaking the engine in then I'll change out the cam to my new one with way more lift and see how that goes. I may screw with the timing a bit and then take her out ad see how fast she'll go flat out. Bit of work to do yet but with luck, I hope to hit 90mph safely. I think you may be in for a handful at 100mph unless you add hyd-steering though! That cable stuff is crap!

I figure 5500rpm, 1.50 gears, ~550hp 25p prop and 2500lbs it's achievable. If it tops 80mph I'll be happy for now. I'm looking at an 8/71SC and direct port nitrous next though.

Sounds like you should have one fast boat.. Yes hydro steering will be a must, but havn't found a good enough deal on it yet. lol.The standard steering isn't as bad as i thought it would be, but def need the good stuff.. Hell it is a handfull at this point.. Have you thought about trying a 4 blade wheel, you will prob pick up mph from it.. I take it your running a BBC?? I guess were having the battle of the stingers. I am not sure what the fastest 202-222 boat is... I bet were close now..

I think you may be right. I read about a guy (I think he was on Speedwake or something) with a blown BBC in a 222 that had about 620hp but he never mentioned a top speed.

We should be thankful. I bought my 222 off Fastlane40 on here and he was about to put a 632ci 850hp in it but wound up with a Skater Cat race boat he put it in instead! That would've been a handful.

Mine's a BBC Gen VI 454 now 468ci with a 731 cam, Victor jnr intake, Modified Vortec heads and dome top pistons running about 10.4:1 comp. With a bigger cam I hope to push past 550hp N/A. In the mean time, I'm looking to start builing an 8/71 Blower motor so I'm trying to find a decent Gen VI Block and Rect Port heads to use. I can't be bothered pulling the one I have apart and rebuilding it again so I'll build the replacement as a side project. That ought to test the Bravo 1!

You're right though, the B1 should fair far better pushing our light little boats around rather than some of the larger boats (I Hope!) :evilb:

Be sure to post more pics of yours as it comes along! I can't wait to see your new interior design.

Regards,
John :coolcowboy:
