EASY WAKE 06-01-2010 07:37 AM

Hey Zero

Well did some more testing with the little 202 and determined the hull has to be extended for good high speed support, so i will be adding to the hull bottom extending the hull surface aft to the sheer, removing the sand definatly helps with the center of gravity but allows the boat to settle down in the water differently aft when coming off plane and allows water to splash on the stern of the boat even more than it does with out the sand, and with a big block it even worse, so just sharing my experiances of what I have found with my 202.

Well, I was able to trade off my 2 bolt main shortblock for a 4 bolt main bare block... If it checks out then I can cut some cost out of my budget and I will just build a tried and trued 350. Forged crank, H beam rods, and forged pistons. But I have having trouble deciding on a camshaft... It seems the only performance camshaft I can find that appears to really be marine specific, is from comp cams... been Eyeing the XM262H

The XM262 is a great off-the-shelf cam for a mild build. If you're building something with better heads, etc., then I would consider contacting RMBuilder on this site for a custom roller. Exhaust is the key (reversion).

So, the XM262H works great? with no reversion?
I'm in a tight cove so I need something that idles well mooring the boat in a tight cove, with a radical cam doesn't sound fun.

So I wait to hear back about if the block checks out and look for a forged crank.

I've named her " Straight up and dirty "

Sorry,
I got caught up with an awefull job that basically took all my time...

So far I've ordered a new 4340 crank, 4340 rods, and ordered the XM262H cam.

Since dealing with used heads is a royal pain, I am looking into a set of aftermarket heads.

nice 202! do you still have the seats out of your boat? I need a picture of the bottom off the seats what supports the seats, from falling in the "box" my interior is toast and its difficult to find build pics of the seats. Thanks any help is great!!!

Good looking stinger for sure.. Boat should run well, once you get it dialed in... Keep us posted on that beautiful boat..
We opt to do a forged 355, stuff it with boost :drink:
