Canadian Chris Craft

How did Grew of Canada fit into the Chris Craft family. Grew had all or most of the Chris Craft models made in Canada. They look and run just like Chris Craft made in any of the U.S. plants. Are they considered to be real Chris Crafts. Did any of the Chris Craft quality get lost in the cross boarder build.

From what I have heard they were probably some of the best built boats in North America.
I have been told the ones to get were 84-88. Apparently after 88 the hulls were a bit porous and had issues with the gell.

They were built under licence from CC and they made some very good hulls. Mine is all original and when I sold it this past september it was still mint and no bottom paint or anything like that, just a couple of small bruises from beaching it.

Did you know that Grew boats also made Wellcraft boats before the Chris Craft deal. All the Canadian built Chris Craft boats before 1988 that I have seen have been of great quality.

Yes I agree. Ihave owned five now and they were all fabulous hulls. My 210 was a Penetang boat but unfortuntely it was powered by and OMC. The rest of my fleet was all Mercs with solids hulls.

My latest aquisition is my 390X and it was built in Bradenton FLA. This is my first CC that I have owned that was NOT built in Canada.

I've had a Stinger in the registry on my website for which I could not figure out the Hull Number for - it started with a GR - now I understand - it's a Grew Stinger! The boat's here: http://www.chriscraftstingers.com/sp...ake%20260.html
