XK 22 questions
 

I have a '71 xk 22 with the 350 flv corvette motor and hooked to a volvo penta 270 via a transdrive. Couple of questions, what is a transdrive and is it capable of being hooked up to a vortec motor? I'm looking at replacing the motor of winter because it looks like its the original. Everything I've read on here suggests rebuilding a truck motor and putting it back in place. I'm thinking of a 383 vortec build but I'm not sure if everything will bolt back on? The original motor still has the LT1 aluminum high rise intake along with the camel hump 2.02 heads. Should I just find a good two piece main block and slap everything back on? Sorry for the jumping around, I've read a lot over the past few weeks and can't really figure it all out.

If that 71' is a true vette block I would imagine it has a steel crank and most likely a four bolt main.

Take a good look and check the heads too as they may be 202's 292's or better????
Strongly consider rebuilding the original as it might be a powerhouse when completed if done correctly.
