Put the if you didn't get your gonna need a bigger prop. Also do you put the tabs down when trying to get on plane. My 242 and my old vindicator w/ a 454 and 1.47 alpha really benefit from using the tabs to get on plane

Sorry auto correct on my phone sucks. What was ment to say was if you haven't gotten a bigger prop you will need to. Switching from the 1.32 to the 1.47 you will over rev the engine with the prop you ran before.

No worries! I'll try out a 23 pitch and 25 pitch mirage plus and see which one works out better. I'm apprehensive about using a 4 blade due to the fact that it has so much bite. I don't want to overstress the drive seeing as it's already getting overworked with the 454.

Great looking boat....are you sure its all original? Ive never seen the cockpit look like that on an I/O version before...all the ones i've seen have 3 across seating with jumper seats next to the engines that can be broken down to make one big hatch/sun pad in back.....the only time i've seen something close to what you have is on an Outboard version...but who knows with an older boat that was only made for two years

Thanks man! That cockpit is the original configuration. I haven't seen many like it either.

I don't believe that cockpit is factory original - it's been modified. On either side of the engine cover, there used to be two seats, and the front bench should go across the whole cockpit. You can see examples at my website Chris-Craft Stingers in the galleries section. As for the color combination, have seen it a couple of times - here's one example: Chris-Craft Stingers - Salisbury 222.

Thanks for the feedback!

You think the SEI drive can handle the extra bite of a 4 blade prop?

I had an 87' 222 Stinger blew the alpha twice with the 454. Sold the boat after 2nd drive and the gelcoat on bottom started cracking. Mine was configured with a 3 across bolster. I think i had a Spinelli (sp) prop gps 69mph everyday 70 a few times light.
