I also had. Stjnger 260! Id rather have twin smaller engines than one bigger one... they are heavy for 26 boat friend of mine had a powerquest 260 single 454 and burned same amount of gas i did at cruising speed... why not keep 2 engines?

I just hate the maintenace of two motor And drives, other thing is I have to build two motors. I have been digging old threads and found one member who got better top speed with single 496ho. Also I was thinking that taking some weight from the back would be a good medicine for stinger hop. Just my toughts. I have to build new transom anyway.

when i had my 260 i had also heard they function well as a single, especially with todays props and ease of building power . Out of all the boats ive had i think i have a soft spot for my stinger the most. Just loved that boat and all it was good for.

Have you done something more on your project?
I also have a Chris Craft 260 Stinger 1987 year model, the white one from Sweden with 496 Mag and Bravo One X with extensionbox. We talked to each other a few weeks ago.
Very interesting to know how it goes.

Hi, Johan. thanks for your interest! Currently building the engine. So many things to learn about Big blocks, as you can see i have asked lots of questions recently in other section of this forum. How is your project?
