87 stinger I made the windshield out of oak plywood and foam then glassed it up. it took a lot of time but turned out nice. as far as speed i am running over 85 and should hit 90.with the right power and set up 100 is possible. but not without blowers or turbos. good luck.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and a newbie with a boat like the one I just bought. I dont know if I got the deal of a lifetime or the shaft of a lifetime.. I bought a 1986 Chris Craft Stinger 26 Ft for 5k. I thought it was a misprint when I read the add. I asked the guy why so low of a price and he said his dad died and his Mom wants the boat gone in a week and didn't care what he made off it.... He showed me all the tickets for repairs. It has twin 5.7 in it That were comp rebuilt along with both drives. to me those were alone worth what I was paying for the boat. His dad had it painted 6 months ago red but wasnt finished. Still needs wet sanding and clear coat. Inside looks good, just cleaning. paint job looks good though. I was realy looking for a smaller 21 scarb but even I knew I couldnt pass this up. Starts right up runs great! Floor feels solid, just seems to good to be, also all paper work is in order. Am I missing something here??????? or did I just happen to stumble on a deal of a liftime? I'm still just baffled... The exhaust is prop, there anyway i can have someone do a thru hull exhaust, ir is there not enough room>? Any advice and opinions would be GREAT! Thanks to all that reply, Barkus

Seems like a deal!

You can easily add thru-hull exhaust to it...

Hi Full Force,

I see alot of writings about the 84,85 87, is there a reason theres not much on the 86 260 stinger? Is this maybe why it was so cheap? I see alot of people saying these boats crack easy. stringers isues, I'm just doing lakes, no ocean, should I be concerned at all>? Thanks.

Should not have any issues, unless boat is rotted, but even then you can fix her up! I don't think being an 86 has anything to do with anything, just happen to be getting info on the other years, all Chris crafts in the 80's could have lamination issues, just check it out, I had strake issues on my 88 245 Limited, I fixed it up and never had an issue again.
The 260 can do well in bigger water if needed, not a bad boat at all!

new here

Good afternoon, I'm new to this forum. It's nice that somebody recognizes Chris Crafts. I have a 1987 scorpion 230 limited that I've had since 1991 it originally had a 350/260 omc cobra that I eventually replaced with a 406 sbc n/a I'm now building a 406 sbc with a 177 weiand blower. I've gotten 70 on GPS with a 23 4-blade. will replace with a 24 or 25 then let the games begin!

Our 1985 Chris Craft 210 LTD Scorpion

Hi all, new to the offshore website. I was attempting to locate information on Chris Crafts and stumbled to this web site. I thought I would share our 1985 Chris Craft 210 Scorpion with you. My wife and I have owned this boat for 21 years. I had the interior replace 10 years ago. I just replaced all the wood last year. The boat is running great. My 8 year old son and 10 year old daughter love the boat. This is will be their boat soon. Below are some pictures. Presently we own this boat and a 2001 440 Trojan Express Yacht which is sitting behind the Chris Craft. Glad to join the forum.
