I saw it when you were looking !!! :cool-smiley-027: I looked at it and the one you bought on the same day. You didn't miss anything. You bought the best one out of the two by a mile. I went over the one you bought at Double Diamond and, I know my eyesight is going, but I could not find a scratch on the outside of it. I even went back and spent 30 or 40 minutes with a salesman and it is a beautiful Bullet.

The 330 horse motors on the other one are an anomaly. I thought the 420 horse was what came in all of them??? I don't remember if it had a notched transom either? Did all the '89's have the notch?

31K asking price has got to tempt more than a few....

I have an original Cig Bullet Brochure and the engines listed as available were:
7.4 (330hp) and Bravos
320 EFI's and Bravos (I've NEVER heard of small blocks in one)
454 Mags and Bravos
Merc 420's and TRS
Hawk 5000's and TRS

If memory serves, I think when I checked on a Bullet in the early 90's, they told me the 330's were standard. I believe the majority of them came with the 454 Mags.

$31000 seems a little high still considering it needs complete update. 15 to 20k interior, paint, hydraulic steering. The 330hp is going to be slooooooow. A good buy on that boat would be below 30k. I would let mine go minus power for a little more that. Just alot of work involved in one. It does make you proud when you redo one though.

It is a buyer's market, and I expect if there is some rot in the rear seat, it will sell for under 30K. He won't need to spend the 5-6K for hydraulic steering unless he's throwing those engines out and getting some with a little more ass. And if most of the gauges are working OK, the buyer can put that off for a while and get by with just redoing the cockpit vinyl to get it on the water this year. I just wish it were coming to the Chesapeake Bay so I'll have some company!

It may not be t*tted out, but it's a driveable (possibly mechanically and structurally solid) Bullet for under $30k, most likely. If a buyer has to or wants to stretch the budget out a bit, might not be a bad boat. I didn't think the paint NEEDED to be done. I thought it was so-so in some places, but not horrible.
And for the record, I thought the Double Diamond Bullet (Residual Image's boat) could have had a better job done on some of the interior paint, like the dash. No offense, cuz that's a sweet boat, but just an observation.

I mean... while we're getting technical.... :cool-smiley-011:

I'm just trying to go in w/ an open, blank canvas mind. :)
Not too worried bout paint because this will be my first time docking twins so im sure im gonna have some errors during the first season. if it had nice paint like 5050's, steveh's, lakeluvrs etc, i might take my life if i put dock rash down the side. fri cant come fast enough tho!

Once you get used to twins you won't ever want to drive a single engine boat again.
