First Annual Twenty-Foot Cigarette Poker Run/Regatta

A Poker Run/Regatta exclusively for twenty-foot cigarette sport boats is planned for Saturday August 20,2005.The event will take place primarily on the Detroit river, beginning where the river enters into Lake Erie.There are several twenty - foot cigarettes located in this area and there has been substantial response from other enthusiasts/owners in other areas that would like to attend such an event.The day will begin at 9am at the launch at Erie Metro Park (near Gibraltar,Mi) on the shore of Lake Erie with a drivers meeting. The run will go up the Detroit river past Detroit, stopping at several locations for refreshments and obtaining cards. the return down the river will incude other card stops and end at a popular local anchorage near Lake Erie where other sport boats will be encouraged to jion the fun.There will be time at this stop for others to admire and inspect the boats and for any grudge matches to take place that may develop throughout the day. If water condition are favorable, the run may continue out to the Detroit Light House on Lake Erie.The event will commence Saturday night at a local boat club with dinner and awards. Registtration is $25per boat, which includes one poker hand. additional hand are $25 each.All proceeds go toward prizes.
