Cabin size difference

What is the difference in cabin size (non cover girl) between '86-'89 Top Gun and Cafe? The overall size is 3' difference, but what part is the extra space added? Cabin, cockpit, engine compartment?

Thanks

I don't know the exact size difference but the cabins on the Guns/Cafes were the same set up from 86 through 89 and then started to change to the "nicer" cabin style from 90 through 99 when the cover girl was introduced.

The mid 90's cafe/gun cabin is the nicest (performance boat) cabin I've ever been in! Very user friendly. It was a must when I was shopping Guns/Cafes. The bed is large and comfy, the table and two seats comes in handy when mixing drinks :drink: and the large built in cooler on the starboard side...Well what more needs to be said about that. It also has ample storage and a good sized head.

The older style cabin is less user friendly and looks dated in my opinion. But then again, it's still a Cigarette!! :drink:

We like the 80's setup with 2 kids, they can sleep on the couches the table limits that. Are the TG and Cafes the same interior size?

No, the interior on the Cafe is a bit smaller up front.

Mine is a little different. The fold down berth end splits to form a armrest /drink platform in the middle and has liquor dispensers built in to the starboard panel. I've only seen this option on a couple of other cafes.
I think the extra 3' is in the cabin and engine compartment. The cockpits seem to be the same.

My wife and I are considering stepping up from our '90 Cafe to ????. Why do some of the forward v-berths in the Top Guns seem to "sag"?

Case in point...

They sag is because under the pad there is a nylon fabric that acts like a trampling that has laces in the center. If the kids jump on the bed the laces will rip and it will sag. Easy to fix

Nothing beats the cabin in a Gladiator for user-friendliness!:D

Thanks - looks like the first thing I woud do is replace that nylon with something stronger.

Ours sag because the zipper on one side pulled from the seem in the nylon pad. I like the bed the way it is though. Feels like a hamock! :drink:

It's a very strong fabric. It's the eyelets that rip out.
