Little wooden knob in Bullet Cabin

There is this little wooden knob in my 88 Bullet Cabin. Its located next to a contol panel where the battery charger on/off swith is. I don't know what it is for. Any insight would be appriciated.

Anytime. It's a reostat or something as the sort. Some times it may not work due to corrosion.

finally made it to my project and took a pic...I don't have a wooden one but a plastic knob if this is the area you are inquiring on. Looking closely (ignore my polishing compound I started last week) Stan is correct with the corrosion...great, more work...stress relief I guess. Still love the project and the deal.

Just try working the Craig... I mean knob back -n- fourth & the corrosion may work its way out. Or take the panel off & you'll see a metal tab that glides against a round spring.. Some fine sand paper should do the trick.
