Has anyone tried the 5 blade hydromotives on a Top Gun with 575's? I'm looking for mid range more than top end. Any advice to get what I'm looking for will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Robert

Twin Screws, What props are you running now, and how are they performing? I am also looking at trying some 5 blades for improved plaining and mid range cruise.

Tres, what is your experience with 5 blades on Top Guns? How much top end do you give up from what you have seen. I know it is a give and take thing, but I would be interested in your thoughts. Thanks for any info.

Great through the middle alittle off in the top if not labbed. I think they worked well on a few, and didnt on others. Crap shoot. Overall I still sell more Herings, And I have a *****in set for that boat.5 blade for 575 TG

Tres, I would like to try a set of Hydro's and herrings. I have heard the same about them helping, some they do some they don't. Mid range is what I'm looking for. Post some prices.

If you are looking for mid-range,try the 6 blade Herings.I dont know how they will work on a Topgun, but they are great on the Gladiator. The mid-range improvement is substantial. If they dont work,I bet the 5 blade Merc would.

You must be turning those 6 blades outward because our boat wants to wreck with 6 blaeds turning in!! We have run Herings, Hydros, Bravos and who knows what. I can tell you that my old Virgin Gladiator saw HUGE midrange acceleration gain with the new Hydro P5X's with no loss in top end. I would give them some thought. I also run Hering 5 blades on the race boat and they are the fastest but the Bravos handle better with a slightly lower speed.
