Bulet Racer
It is my understanding that the first Bullets were produced in 1988. Can anyone tell me, were they originally designed and built for offshore racing, or have they always been intended to be a consumer performance boat?

Re: Bulet Racer
im pretty sure the bullet was designed for consumers considering its only a 31 footer. there have been 31 bullet race boats made probably but they werent originally designed for that purpose solely.

Re: Bulet Racer
I've got an '88 without a notched transom. Cig started the notched transom in late '88 if I'm not mistaken. I do have mint stock '89 for sale if your interested.

Re: Bulet Racer
It was my understanding that back in the mid eighties Cigarette wanted to increase market share so they came up with the 30-60-100 plan. A 30 footer that can do at least 60 mph and be priced around 100k. I don't remember any 30 foot racing programs endorced by Cigarette because they still wanted to maintain the +38 foot racing throne.
Or maybe this was an urban legend... :drink: |

Re: Bulet Racer
I think Craig Barrie said the bullet was for the guy that wanted a top gun but couldn't afford one. Iv'e never been on one but I hear it's the best riding boat in that size range from any manufacturer. Is the hull design an original Cigarette design? I know the deck is but the hull itself, espically the two inner parallel running strakes does not really lend itself to the typical Cig hull design. Thats not to say the boat is not a "true" Cigarette
