Removing Floor
How big a pain in the *ss is it to remove the floor in a Cafe? One of the drains must be clogged with crap, I've had water sitting in the cabin for 2 days and it hasn't gone down any. Remove the access panel under the drivers side and can't see any way to clear it from there.

Re: Removing Floor
I have the floor out of my 86 cafe, it was not to had to take out. But you still can not get to the drians mybe if you take the fuel tanks out, but that is not easy good luck

Re: Removing Floor
I got the wet/dry vac out and sucked a ton of water out. I used about 4' of 1/2" hose to snake around under the holding tank and the drain in the cabin, and pulled leaves and other trash out. Would it hurt anything to pour some drain cleaner in there? I'm thinking of the citrus kind, I really can't pull the tanks, filled them up last week...

What dreamer said
I would start behind the hatch forward of your bearth. Thats were the drain holes start. and blow to the rear of the boat. The main drain should be right at the keel in the bilge with 2 up higher on either side. If you have a wire puller try doing that first to clear the way a little. Good luck |
Re: Removing Floor
I went to Lowes and picked up some 6' sections of threaded rod, cut them in 3' section and coupled them together to unclog it. It looked like 60 gallons of sludge came out after an hour finally clear water is coming out.
