By the way, if anyone is looking for a #6 gun I don’t think you’ll find a better deal than lock and load. Thing is sooooo bad azz. Give Lipship a call. We were an inch away from writing the check but my wife just couldn’t do the no rear bench and fiberglass engine hatch (no layout area). She’s a bad mo fo though.

I don’t see it listed on OSO anymore. The ask was like $129k on Lock and Load right?

yes. The gentleman that did all the work passed. It was owned by one of Phil’s good customers after that who buttoned up a few things making it basically perfect but never ran it lol. Then Phil took it in on trade. It’s ready to rock. Doesn’t need a thing from what I know. Sitting on a nice myco too.

Seems like a boat that clean should bring more than what they are asking but I suppose with the small cockpit from the staggered setup it may make it a harder sell. That boat looks so nicely done. Mine is a giant pile of crap in comparison.

Well, you take a) straight bottom boat = small buyer market, b) big power and 6's = even smaller buyer market c) stagger, smaller cockpit = even smaller buyer market. These boats take a special buyer. Before we bought RWTD I'd gues there was maybe 5 people in the country (and that's being generous) that were actually interested in buying it. Not to mention (as you are painfully aware of) the purchase price is just the admission ticket. The real spending comes once you own it. LOL Not a lot of people down for that.
I put the boat up for sale and 2 real buyers, full asking price and 8 hrs later the boat is sold. lol |

You told me that and I thought man this thing will never sell or take forever , theres only 5 people in the coutry that would want a Top gun .. Flat Deck has to be even less . I was making plans to leave at Performance after the Randevous..

This boat also used to be super clean, well at least it was when I saw it in Key west a couple years ago. The owners of lock and load and this boat were good friends and I sold them a pair of 6's on extension boxes that I had.

OffshoreOnly Classifieds - Boat Classifieds - Boat Parts That was a great thread watching them work on L&L and Zero Patience. They seemed to have a lot of fun doing both boats. That thing still looks super nice. Been for sale for a long time. I think the color(s) are the hold up there. Killer set up with the chiefs and dry 6's. |
I would be content selling my boat and buying L&L... I really like that boat, tastefully done. Such a good boat for up here in Erie.
And way cheaper than converting my boat to 6s. Maybe I'll ask Phil what a trade plus $ looks like..... |

On a related note, we’re heading to havasu today and go run the boat and bring it back to Cali for the summer. |
Well after 2 weeks of work, I fired the starboard motor off in the boat for the first time in 6 years. Should have the port engine fired off tomorrow if all goes as planned (it never does). From there it's all about the punch list and tuning the Holley EFI before I get to really have fun with this. Either way, this is far more progress than has been made in 4 years.

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...cda4a8410.jpeg Well I'll be damned, it still floats. Took it out for about an hour just going easy on it and doing a little tuning. I need to add second idle air control valves to each motor as it just doesn't move enough air to compensate for the large props on the shift, but I'll get that handled soon. Otherwise, it ran pretty well. I need to do some datalogging to make sure expected AFR and actual AFR are matching up as well as make sure my fuel system is keeping up before I really start to lean on it. It's going to be a process, but hopefully slow and steady keeps me from hurting another motor. |

I'm glad I could inspire you! Great to see it floating on the lake again.
