Top Gun 101 Questions
On ebay there is currently a 1985 "Top Gun" for sale. Reading older posts they didn't make top guns until early 90's so that makes this a 38ft flat top? Am I understanding this correctly? What are basic differences between a flat deck and a top gun? Thanks again.

they started making top guns in 1987. they made both flat deck and top guns that year. that 85 is a flat deck. they made the flat decks in fiberglass and kevlar i believe. they are going to run generally slower than a top gun with similar power.

a combination of both. older technology, i tihnk they made a kevlar layup which wouldnt be as bad

As far a sappearance goes the flat deck has a totally different deck and dash. The cabin layout is different. Also, most topguns have notched transoms and the flat decks do not.
