Re: Shifters

I have the keik sticks with cables, and there are microswitches sandwiched in the controls. Pull the control assemble out and check it may be all crudded up like mine was, very simple set up.

Re: Shifters

Do you know where to get new microswithes or cables?

Re: Shifters

Trick marine has very fair prices on 26' and 24' 33c cables; sticks to control box and I used BAM for cables from box to drives.
Fred or Heath at Trick may direct you to the micro switches

Good luck

Re: Shifters

those shifter/throttle assemblies have ball bearings with springs that provide the "click" as the ball bearing enters the detent. that stuff can get corroded and sticky over time. i just rebuilt a set of these for my little boat and when re-assebled with the merc green grease work like brand-new! you can still get parts for these from merc dealer...

Re: Shifters

Sean is correct. The ball bearings are tiny little things and a PITA to get back in. You can pick up a new ones at Ace hardware. When reassembling place a little Vaseline in the detente area to hold the bearing in place.

When you take it apart they will fall all over the place.

By the way, KK sticks are reversible.

Re: Shifters

You could replace them with some of these for a pretty good price. They make 'em with the round base now too like the laythum throttles.

My shifter is number 15 in the diagram. What parts do I need here to rebuild.

Tank, thanks for the suggestion, but I want to keep it original.
