Average speed shoud be 85-86 ish.My friend has a one that does 90mph.It is a very light boat and without the extended cabin.

He is running 32 Labbed (.500 EFI boats run 81-82 all day long.)Your boat should be 2-3 MPH more at least.

I have a cousin who has a 2005 Top Gun with 32p 4 blade bravos. The best he has ever seen is 86mph and that was with the temp being 40 degrees and 2 people. Most of the summer he ran 84mph. He tried the Merc 5 blade prop and that didn't work at all. You should run 84-86mph.

I also have a friend who has a 2001 Top Gun with 500EFI and XR's with 28p 4 blades and is having a hard time breaking 80mph.

My Freind has an 05 w/525's, it runs 87-88 in freshwater.

81-82 in salt water is definately slow...somethings up.

My Freind has the last 05 built @ 188th st factory. w/525's, it runs 82ish in salt water.

my '02 w/ 575's runs 87 - 90 depending on variables.

Alot of these boats are not set up right from the factory. I would check and make sure the drives are aligned first.Do you have an extended cabin? That adds some weight.You should be turning 5200rpm @ wot. It took my friend in his last two 525 boats some time to get the right prop setup.

A 525 Gun with ITS and Sport Masters is 85/88 with a GOOD set of props.Call BK at Offshore or Bud at Cig they are the best with props.

I would call Phil @ Lip-Ship and ask him what to do. Tell him Lucky Strike told you to call. I wouldn't get that excited about getting much more speed becuase he says most 525 boats run 86mph and that is from the horse's mouth.

I stand corrected. My mistake. Mine are 5300 test report and 5350 trimmed up...stock...Reggie may have a connection there.

If you lab your props that you have now, you will get another 2-300 rpms and they may work. Not sure, call Throttle Up

Where are you on your trim at WOT?

I have an 03 Lipship w/ 525's. Tattle-tale GPS Speedo proves 89 on it. However, on Garmin 182, a little less than 2 MPH slower.

Phil swears on 4.5 on trim (I have an extended CG Cabin and TONS of extra weight in speakers/amps/batteries etc...).

Gotta love Lip-Ship!

P.S. Harry, did you ever sell your 42? We had a conversation about it appx. 6 months ago.
