Thats Raul Boesels former boat.Nice looking boat.Looks like it has the old style dash. 2000 was a strange year for the Topgun. You have straight bottoms, single step and twin steps .You have old cabin, old dash, new dash with electric cabin door etc.I guess it was a year in transition for the Topgun.I had Pudges first Topgun. It was a 2000.I miss that boat!

Re: 38 single step ??????

Wild,
Know the Boat well, Very Well I owned it from May of 2000 through January of 2001. (Rice Hauler IV)
I purchased it through Phil from Raul Boesel who originally comissioned it. (ROCK the Thumbprint is Raul's Trademark)As others have mentioned it was one of 5 or so Single Step Bottom Boats ever produced. Cig finally got serious under Mr. Cabasso's regime and finally brought in Michael Peters to professionally design the Twin Step Molds.
It has a Vacuum Bag layup like the Twin Step Boats and is nearly the same weight but was still made out of the Modified Original TG Molds. So it has some irregularities and such.
But as for Performance and Handling. It was a quantum leap from the previous Straight Bottom I had. 80 MPH on the 500's and great fuel economy. it also handled the water much more to my liking. It rode much flatter than a Straight Bottom But not as Dead Flat as a Twin Step. I really enjoyed it and it was a great ride. But the TS was just that much better.
No real downside except that it's a bit of an rarity/oddity The build quality was great and it required little to no maintainence. Hull or Engines. I believe the present owner is the man who purchased it from me (phil handled everything I never met or spoke to him). And I think that he may have traded in a 35 Cafe on this one.
Feel free to PM me with anything specific that you might want to know I'm always glad to lend an answer.
Best,
Rob..
a.k.a. Rice Hauler
p.s. Hey Donz, The original headrests had Raul's Thumbprint logo and since it was MY Boat now that I had paid for it, I thought that I should change that, Phil told me that it was called a F2 Layup so we did the F2 logo on the headrests. I was not trying to be a Wannabe just trying to distinguish my "Dream Come True" Cig.

The graphics on that boat were unique. It has or had a finger print blended into the graphics on the side in blue. Actually pretty cool.

Re: 38 single step ??????

Duh, I just looked at the post of the pic, it still has the finger print.

You had to see the paint in person. The airbrushed gun on the side was incredible.Originally, I did not like that boat from the photos, but when I saw it in person with the fades, touch of orange, and the blue hues of the gun,I had to have it.

The first time I saw the paint up close when it was tied up in Wolfeboro, I was a believer as well.

Do you happen to know condition of engines - hours, rebuilds?

J Bonz and The Donz. et al.
It's all good.
Coming back from Windsor.
I think that trip had a lot to do with the Fact that your illustrious Dad was riding Shotgun with me and we had that Donzi with 575's thinking he could keep up.
YES it was a perfect run and the 625's Zul's in Rice Hauler V never even wimpered. As I remember we had 1-2's the whole way and once we cleared the Detroit River we never looked back. In fact I KNOW it took longer to clear Customs at Put-in-Bay than it took to get home.
And Donz it's all good, I was just snarkin' back a bit.
Bran,
We'll be there for the Miami Boat show run with Mondazze and Company, Look forward to another run to Hawk's with you.
Best,
Rob..
