Cigarette Bullet

As some of you know, I sold my 22-foot bowrider and I am looking for a 30-foot "wave crusher". It doesn't need to be the fastest both on the water, but I need three things...

1) A smooth ride from the ramp to the party cove

2) The ability to write it off as a "house"

3) A flat sundeck for lots of sex :evilb:

The Cigarette Bullet looks like a boat that will fit the bill.

Opinions?

I've looked at tons of cigs... (bullets, cafe's and guns).......the nicest, affordable bullet out there is Stan's (cig1988).......

There has been a few threads on that boat.....

Just my opinion....good luck

I've never ridden in one, rafted up with craig and saw his run and I was very impressed...looks good and handles it all.... I also think the one in the post above is the best buy for the money...

Can't go wrong with a Bullet if you're wanting something in the 30 foot range. Love mine, have had comments that it rides like a lot longer boat. But not light either, I think dry weight is 8800, if I'm not mistaken. Good luck in finding one.

clay i'll work you a heck of a deal on my 35ft mistress. it a really sweet cig, fresh 20hour 577na 690hp a side, 140hr #3'S
4 hours on fresh 11 plate bw72c trans. a truly bullet proof combination. the boat was re gel coated 2 years ago and look great, all new gauges installed 2 yeras ago, new int 2 years ago, the interiior is teak and in great condition. the mistress has a LOT better ride than a bullet, there wouldn't be much of a diff towing one vs the other, you want to stay away from trs drives.

Clay

Make you a heck of a deal. Doug (RumRunner) stopped by the house a few months ago. Feel free to get his opinion on this boat. It's all wrapped up for the winter but accesable. As you can see, the dash was updated & made a huge differance.

Re: Cigarette Bullet

Clay,

If you have any questions about Stan's 89 let me know I looked at it when I was up in NY in October. You're going to have a hard time getting a go fast to "leagally" pass as a cottage for taxes. You'd have to put a stove inside the cabin. Most places won't let you write it off if you can't.

Re: Cigarette Bullet

The Bullet is a great boat you are going to need a serious tow vehicle, very heavy!

bouyhunter 12-09-2005 05:54 PM

Re: Cigarette Bullet

Clay, I'd be looking at Stan's Bullet pretty hard myself if it wasn't for the fact that I need a tow vehicle also.
If you have a tow vehicle, I wouldn't be too worried about the TRS drives. I'm working on a truck first - I know you were talking about getting a bigger truck not to long ago - if you got it, I wouldn't be afraid of the drives. It's just alotta boat to be towing, and the added expense of a truck is holding me back right now.
You said that if you want more speed, you'd spend some money on the motors. Well, you can always divert that $$ to Konrad's if you can't find TRS parts. I had a TRS and loved it - the B&W was nice to have around the docks.
Ratman's Mistress is also a helluva boat. I was out with him a few weeks ago, and it is a serious wave crusher. We knocked down some BIG water and she ran HARD. Plus, he's got SSM 3's. P.M. me if you want the skinny.
Good Luck in the boat search.

Thanks, but that sundeck with the scoops and the "exposed" exhaust is a deal breaker. I need a flat sundeck and a swim-platform for easy access to the water.

I still have my current truck, and I plan to get a bigger truck in January (or February). My current truck will tow 7800 pounds and my next truck will tow 10,000 pounds.

I would assume that a 31-foot Bullet on a trailer would weight in right under 10,000 pounds.

If a Bullet weighs 8800#'s dry as LakeLuvr has stated, it is going to be at least 12,000#'s towing weight. Boat 8800#,Gas 1000#, Gear 200#, Trailer 2000# = 12000# minimum.

Oh yes... That Bullet is AWESOME. But at almost $68K, it is well outside my price range. :(

Yeah, I talked to the folks selling that one. It is a "wide beam" boat, so trailering is not an option. Plus, it is out of my price range.

It is more of a luxury boat. I still want a powerboat.

Those numbers seem about right - except for 200# of gear - I always carried too much "crap" on my boat - probably closer to 500# in my case.

Weighed this combo at work without the drives & half tanks of fuel. Gross weight w/truck/trl/boat 18,780 lbs.

Mine scaled 12k on a steel eagle trailer. My SRW Diesel Super Duty pulled it Great.Perfect Combo. The Bullet is a great running wave crusher, I know of a VERY nice one coming on the market but..More $....I would look at Stans
