Re: Cig at Phil's
I hope you'll wait until it gets warmer before you get it wet...you'll have one frozen Tiger on your hands. :D
Looking forward to what should be a great summer! |

Re: Cig at Phil's
Those speakers look like 10" Babbs to me, but it's kind of blurry.

Thanks, now where to get them Wild Randy, personal opinion from someone who has had a fare share of LARGE systems....Babbs suck. There's alot better speakers out there. |
Re: Cig at Phil's
Then what is a great marine speaker, i need a new system

It's all personal taste but I really like JL Audio, Eclips titanium series and Kicker for subs. I like MB Quart, Eclipse, Boston, Clarion for mids/tweeter. I like Percission Power and Orion for amps. Head units are pretty much the same thing, just pick the one that fits your needs (i.e. MP3 connect, Sattlelite radio, disk changer, etc.). I like Kenwood, alpine, Eclipse. I'm getting ready to re-do the system in our Gun too so I'm right there with you. :D |
Re: Cig at Phil's
Tank, ever hear of or run Cadence stuff? I'm running an almost complete Cadence set up in my Jeep and am very impressed. Their prices can't be beat, and they definitely sound a lot better than a lot of other companies that I've heard.

Re: Cig at Phil's
if you're running in fresh water you can put car stuff in, but salt air corrodes the internals quickly. I just did kenwood maring speakers and sirrus in my Tiger and it sounds great, it may not have to be specifically marine, but marine rated.

I like Kenwood alot. I think their marine stuff is a good call. Sono***un, I've never heard of Cadence. It's weird though, stereo trends are very different from west coast to east coast. Like Zapco is pretty big on the east coast and out here it's virtually un heard of (GREAT amps by the way). And Audiobahn is HUGE out here right now but not known as well on the east coast. |
Re: Cig at Phil's
I had never heard of them either until a local rep showed me their line up. Supposedly they're big in the more southern parts of the East Coast (probably why I'd never seen 'em up here in VT!) But supposedly Dr. Dre runs Cadence stuff and endorses them.
Check them out if you want at cadencesound.com. And you're right, Audiobahn isn't really that big around here. The only companies you really see run around here are Sony, MTX, JL, and Kenwood. I think it's time for a new system in our Gun :D |
Re: Cig at Phil's
someone who knows about sound systems should start a thread on what they think is the best stuff. i am also replacing the system on my 94 top gun this winter and am lost on where to go with it. the only thing is it has to be loud because i just bought some new stellings headers, and the damn muffler switch was such a pain in the a$$. so i decided i didnt need it or the mufflers cluttering the boat up. :)

Re: Cig at Phil's
I used the kenwoods and then got custom covers from Xaudio...looks awesome and sounds great.
