Boats with 6's & Set up strait hull

I have heard that the Cigarettes that had 6's and speedmasters on them from the factory had a different angle to the transom than the bravo boats.

Is this true?

Also I know the strait hulls don't like extension boxes. Can a boat be set up to run with them for a conversion to Konrads and not be way off on balance or is the only option to move the engines forward to get the CG back?

Mike-

I too have heard that the conventional hull #6 boats had a different angle to their transoms. I've heard it from more than 1 person, so I would love to know that as well.

My '96 had 12" boxes and ran pretty damn good.......

Of course the engines were done by Chief so maybe Tommy worked a little magic.

How many straight-bottom TG's were built with #6's from the factory? My boat (and I thought most of the others with #6's) came from the factory with #3's and was rigged for #6's later on. Very interesting question, I can't wait to see the answer!!

Here is a link to a thread that I started a while ago, trying to find out just how many straight-bottom TG's there are out there with #6 drives. You may find it interesting.

What were you running for props and had they been worked? Was it a full cabin boat?

I guess I asked about the transoms back then too and no one answered. Inquiring minds want to know!

Ok, let me ask another way....is anyone still alive that built those boats that I could contact and ask?

Craig Barrie or Scott Smith. I was told by someone last week that there is no difference with a SSM boat.
