496 HO In Cafe
 

I would like to know how the cafe would perform with 496 vs 502. I have thought about buying two new 496s and running them for the reliability stand point.

Based on what I got from Gary a year or so back, I'm putting 496s in mine. at 425hp with bravo drives, it'll have more power than when it came from the factory with 420s. I'm looking for close to 70mph out of the boat and hope there will be no significant cahnge in handling.

My boat has 502s that are rated at 465hp. The boat runs in the high 60s. I would like to have efi's because of the reliability. Starting good and idling. The motors i have now, i am always worried about something happening.

Drop them in and add CMI headers for a claimed 40-60hp.

I had 502 mag/MPI (I think they were 425HP at the prop around 450 at the crank)with bravo's and was getting around 68 MPH out of that setup

Or you could buy our 525efi long blocks, docmanrich37's fuel injection, and have a screamin' cafe!

Can you give me some more info on that and what it might cost.
