Who's up for having an all Cigarette FR ( like the Apache one). I know that many of you guys were interested in doing a Lip ship FR but i was thinking instead of having only Lip ship boats why not have ALL Cig boats attend......I still haven't gone to Cig to ask for approval and (hopefully) some type of sponsorship, so this is not official let me repeat this is NOT official....but if you guys are up for it then post dates that yall can make it and then i'll go to the factory with all the different and see which one works for them ( saying their willing to sponsor) . i was thinking like a Run from Miami to the Tikki bar as this will be the last yr of the Tikki bar ( according to the staff at Holiday isle)....let's here some input and dates

I dont care to have a purse or footage, lets just have a good old hard run down to the Tiki Bar and then sit there and drink beer,laugh and tell some good stories (lies)

That sounds like a plan. Down to Isl. morada spend the night and get drunk with some good peeps! However, the wife and I still need a ride. I'm not a baller like you guys, I wont be shipping the Gun to Fl. :D

Whatever you guys want, i'm up for...i have been getting many PM's from people that own other brands for the run...if you guys are ok with it do you guys mind if other ( not Cig owners) attend as well just to make it more fun and bigger ?
About the purse...i was thinking of doing this just to put some pocket change in your pockets so that people don't just drive all the way over here ( TX, MO, NJ and so on) and not take home any prize ( besides taking home good memories and good laughs )....I'm not doing this to make money out of it ( most of you guys know who i am personally and know what go fast boats and parting mean to me )...i'm doing it just to have good times and still be able to boat in the winter time in the Paradise state of fl...my intentions are not like other organizations that will ask for 800$ entrance fee and only give like 10% of that to the purse :rolleyes:
i was thinking of 150$ entrance fee and ALL that money will go towards the purse for the owner of the boat ; not the passengers ( unless passenger also pay an entrance fee)....The prize money will be given on sat ( of the weekend we decide) night at the tikki bar....it will be picked from raffle tickets which i will personally open in from of everyone there, so that no one thinks i'm in favor of anyone......there would be a 1st,2nd and 3rd cash money prizes along with three REAL nice trophies (whatever other goodies i can get from sponsors if i do get any of course) all this depends on how many people attend........

What do you guys think ?[I]

so far i'm aiming towards the middle of jan, that seems to be the best time people have been telling me

i would love to do something like that...if this one was to work out...id be more then happy to try and organize something more central...but for my first one i have to stay in my home town where i can easily get information in person...

we can do a summer one at LOTO, i have wanted to do a charity poker run up here for a while, maybe we can do it next year.

Anytime after Jan 15th works for me... We have Jan. meetings w/ Tax Accts, finalizing #'s for quarterly commissions (that are paid on Jan. 15th) and IRS reporting/pmts. to wind up for Q4, etc....

I would imagine there's several other folks looking at similar things at that time of the month/year.

If Jan. is the month everyone prefers, then I'd make a push for the weekend of Jan. 20th or 27th. Otherwise, Feb. works well too.

Entry fee or not --- either way. No preference here. I would suggest a small collection for a photographer to take photos so that we will get in the magazines - but, no worries if it doesn't happen. It'll be fun, either way!

Mike. I have organized a few good sized events. If you want to have fun and enjoy the weekend, just pick a date and starting spot, let everyone make there own reservations for hotel and docking. and lets just have some fun. No pics, no prizes, no giveaways. We have Stu and the crew to provided us with all that good stuff. Lets just run and have some fun. Put the boats away for the night at Holiday Isle and get down to some partying. We could all raft up the next day out on the sandbar, and then on Sunday head back to Shooters for "the" contest.

Ill help you plan it if needed.

Out of respect for Stu and FPC, I would just ask that we dont do it the same w/e that he has a run planned.

That sound like a great idea...who's up for that ? Who has the exact date ( weekend of the Miami boat show) .. I think that would be great the weekend before the boat show ( it doesn't interfere with stu's run).....I would be more than happy to take care of the reservations...as a matter of fact i'm going this weekend to my house in the Keys and i'm planing to get 411 from the tikki bar...so let's hear it who's up for the weekend before the Miami boat show ?

Now my only concern is that FPB has the exact same run from Miami to the Tikki bar the weekend after the Miami boat show..don't you think that many of you won't want to the same run twice in the matter of 2 weeks apart ?

My vote is Jan 20th. like otis said, pick a starting point, ending, etc. let everyone fend for themselves. Because you cant please everyone.

Jan 20th is good for me. I will already be streched out being down for 11 days for the boat show and Stu's run. I dont think I could make down the week before the show

Update :

The run will be Jan 19,20,21 2007

Just got back from the Keys yesterday to go to the places where we will be going on the PR/FR....I stopped at Gilbert's ( Fri lunch stop ) and they will have a lunch buffet ready for us for when we get there.....The price for that is $ 20 per person and we can go ahead and pay that when we get there

I made the reservations for us at the Holiday isle...So far we have 10 rooms reserved in the upstairs part of the Marina and those are $ 185 + tax a night, and 10 rooms ocean front for $ 250 + tax a night.....
I did reservation for the slips..So far I reserved 18 slips..The price for the slips is $ 2.50 a foot and that includes both water and shore power.....
Sat night from 7 PM-9 PM we will have dinner at the Holiday isle in the " Horizon " restaurant which is on the Top floor of the main tower. Also here we will do the raffle for the purse and prizes. The price is $ 100
The buffet menu includes ........

Mediterranean salad
Roasted marinated pork
Mahi- Mahi ( dolphin) with a papaya salsa
Black beans
Yellow rice
Fried plantains
Deserts
and it includes OPEN BAR ( no limit ) but with the good Liquor which are
Chivas Regal
Crown Royal
Johnny Walker
Dewars
Grey Goose
Capt. Morgans
Ketel One
Grand Marnier
All domestic and imported beer also included

Mike -

I'd suggest starting a new thread and attaching the link to this thread. That way all of us "Cig" guys will know, from the title, that there is actually a run and we're not just talkin' about it (as shown in the first few posts). My thought is some folks won't read far enough to see that.....

Thanks for getting this thing together ----- now I have a reason to leave my boat in Fl. the first part of the year ---- for a couple months vs. hauling it up for the boat show run and then back again ------ very nice!!!!
