Re: Cig owners interested in vintage car racing?
lman gave me his log in info so I could post a clarificaiton on what I'm looking for (based on Todd's "question" I suppose).
I'm not lookig to trade for a new Gladiator with 1075s... I've seen at least 10 older Bullets, Cafes and Guns for sale priced in a range of $0 - $50k of my asking price on the Camaro. Additionally, I've seen another 10 boats that, based on comments in this forum should be priced within a range of $0 - $50k of my asking price... And there are a couple that are under my ask. That's really the type of boat I'm looking to trade for (sub-$100k older Cig). I'd go for a Bullet, Mistress, Cafe, Gun or 28SS. If interested, give a shout, I'm happy to talk about options. On to the car... For a frame of reference and some education, please have a look at prices, components and construction on similar cars: http://race-cars.com/carsales/transam.htm http://race-cars.com/carsold/transam.htm You'll notice that my car is significantly less expensive than other comparable cars (heck, have a look at the weight, 250lbs in a steel race car doesn't come cheap!). I thought I'd take out the B/S factor on the price. You boat guys know how this goes... It couldn't be replicated for double the cost (heck the shocks alone are $4k before they go on the shock dyno). This car is a dominant car with the right driver and a top 3 car with the wrong driver. Please feel free to contact me with any addional questions, comments, b/s or whatever. ([email protected]) I'd prefer save my buddy the trouble of having to repeatedly respond to questions on the board. Thanks! Sean |
