Any more info on the 575's vs the 525's? Seems like only 2-3 mph diff. Are the blower motors more finiky? Haven't seen much on comparing these side by side. Thanks :D |
Re: I'm shopping for '03 or newer Top Gun
Both the 525 and 575 are good motors. Don,t let that be the deciding factor. Look at the individual boat. Condition, hours of use, lake vs saltwalter use , graphics and price are among some of the more important considerations.

Yep, I prefer a freshwater boat even though I boat in the Chesapeake Bay. I really like the FWC feature on the 525's.
Condition, low hours and maintenance are more important to me. Didn't want to go after a 575 boat if there were any issues. I use my boats alot and reliability is important.... |

A true buyer will recognize a good boat and know it's worth paying a fair price vs. a "steal-of-a-deal" on something that has a possible ticking bomb. Remember, if you offer a lot less and the seller accepts, it's a good idea to be prepared to dump a bunch of $$$ into it during the off-season, bringing it back to 100%, after the bomb has gone off after you've put a few hours on the boat ---- been there, done that! :( FYI - Customryder, knowing Scotty.... I've heard your boat is well kept and very clean. Hold-out.... you'll get your price. Someone I know (and is on the board) said to me that they plan on it taking 12 months from the date they put it up for sale, before it actually sells. --- sometimes we're just in the right place at the right time and it sells quicker. Joe P.S. Glad to see everyone is staying firm, keep the value and high resale prices in the Cig. world! |
