TG fuel level senders - question

Has anyone replaced the fuel level senders in their TG?

Mine are not accurate and are not consistent side to side, was thinking of replacing them with the Livorsi style. Took a quick look at the sender location and it looks like a pain in the azz.
Is it?
Any tips / tricks??

Thanks in advance.

My fuel guages are all off too (and the guages themselves are brand new). Isn't the sender units just little floats in the fuel cells? You can get to them through the access panel in the engine room? I need to get around to doing mine too

I did mine. Its not hard at all just use a short screw driver under the hatch in the engine compartment. Take the old one out throw it away put new one in no problem. Be careful not to make any sparks:eek:

Do you have to have the tanks full of fuel?

Last time I changed mine I just removed the old ones and measured from bottom of the tank to the top of the tank and sent measurements to Livorsi .They sent new ones pre-cut to size and calibrated. There's also screws for any further adjustments.

I just helped a buddy of mine install the new ones (no moving parts) from Livorsi in his Top Gun. Pretty straightforward installation with minimal hassle

My install "looks" (from a quick glance) like there is all kinds of hoses/plumbing in the way.

Yes there are hoses but you should be able to move them.

Same way I did the ones in my Mistress when I had it. It's the only way to go.
