Re: The Illustrious Rice Hauler
Phil took me for a ride in that boat before he delivered it. We hit 82 mph. It was my first twin-step ride and I was sold. Always loved that paint!

I think it still might tied up with the impound situation.

Re: The Illustrious Rice Hauler
If I'm not mistaken the boat next to Rice Hauler w/the "bat out of hell" graphics was the one that had some water damage, Jeff Cheng and Co. bought it, re-painted it and sold it for a REEEEALLY good price. I don't know where it went though.

Re: The Illustrious Rice Hauler
Hey Jack,
Nice Seeing your Voice. And the Shots of the the Boats both Mine and yours look GREAT too. The Boat with the "Bat out of Hell" Graphics originally belonged to a Gentleman out of Indianapolis and was powered by HP500's. It was a LipShip Boat. It was one of the Last Straight Bottom 2000's that Phil did. Mark sold it to a Physician on Lake Erie and that's where those shots were taken. Jack may know if the Doc has since sold it or not. He loved to put all his Kids, Grandkids Included (Like 9 people in all,) and head to the Casino for Breakfast in the Mornings. That was where I usually would catch him. Tank, Sorry I've been a bit busy. I always check in, and I've loved seeing your boat in Print the last few months. I know what a "Fan of the Brand" you are and I'm tickled to see you get the recognition that you've received. Look forward to seeing you and the Left Coast Gang again. Hopefully Sooner rather than Later. East Coast or West. Best, rob.. a.k.a. Rice Hauler |

Re: The Illustrious Rice Hauler
Rob, great to "hear" from you. I'll call you soon to catch up. Kelly and I want to get out to Miami/Keys soon, lets hook up!
Thanks for the kind words on our ride. It's come out really killer and we're extatic. The "bat out of hell" boat is not the one I was thinking of. The one that came out this way (that rolled) was a twin step, same paint though. Tank |

Good investigation skills!:drink: Now, where's it at currently? |
I remember seeing "Rice Hauler" back in 00-01 it was just when we were getting into offshore boats and had the PQ. Sure was one sweet boat.
Robs a good guy. He was always willing to talk about the Cigs! :D

Jr. That's old Casino in the back ground! Sure has changed that past few years. :drink: :D David |
David,
My pops still talks about how nice it was meeting you and you Dad at the Bay. He is still humboled about how nice you guys thought his boat was. Rob was and is one of the greatest guys you could meet in boating. He is truly genuine. I will never forget when he told us how he took that boat out the sandusky channel on of the roughest days and skying past all the pasengers on the rocket. The famous qoute he coined, When your faced with nasty Lake Erie water "its good to be the cigarette". |
