Apology Due

For anyone who saw the thread last week concerning the '07 Cigarette Top Gun for sale and the statement that I made saying I would never buy another Cigarette, an apology is due to Skip and his staff at Cigarette. My original intention for this boat was to use it on a couple of trips and then sell it after 60-90 days. I have absolutely no dissatisfaction with Cigarette or the boat. There was no issue concerning service or warranty items on this boat. The fit, finish, quality and CUSTOMER SERVICE is the finest in the industry and why Cigarette enjoys the reputation they do. Obviously, when you have a team that goes the extremes they do to make a top quality product like this, you would have offended them by saying you would never buy another one. The few representatives who have made false and misleading comments concerning this boat in order to prevent the sale of this boat in order to sell their own should practice ethical business practices. What they have done is inexcusable. Their false comments are the issues. Again, my sincere apologies to Cigarette and their staff. As to if I would buy another Cigarette, absolutely.

You've got a great boat and apparently an unfortunate situation. Hopefully it will work out in everyone's best interest.

offshoredrillin 03-04-2007 05:48 PM

Very cool, As i had said in the other thread, accentuate the positives cuz it is a nice rig.

Jupiter Sunsation 03-04-2007 06:39 PM

Good post, your boat is killer good luck selling it.

Too Old 03-04-2007 07:08 PM

I think you have a killer boat. If I were so fortunate, I'd keep her.

smithimports.com 03-04-2007 07:52 PM

With summer getting so close I'm now thinking of just keeping it, being in the car business you get use to everything being for sell. Once I sell it then I'll want it back.

pm203 03-04-2007 08:06 PM

I'm glad you are happy with Cig and your boat. Too bad about the boat being slandered like that. You should still be able to get the same money in the fall, after another season. So, keep it and enjoy it!

I like some of the cls's on your site, they are sweet cars.

pm203 03-04-2007 09:02 PM

If you want a CLS, buy in the northeast. The market for them is real soft at the moment. We can't give them away.

Pm203,
Do you work for Mercedes? How is the 07 S -class selling?

customryder 03-04-2007 10:25 PM

Andy,
I feel your pain... I do think the owners of cigarette should have a talk with the dealers, that are bad mouthing the boat.. it just not good business.... the boat will sell its-self.

CasinoRunner,
No. I work for Audi, but as far as I know, the new S class is selling well.

Just lease returned an 04 A8L and they are super soft here in FL. MSRP new was 78K, lease buyout was 52K and with 48K on the ODO dealer thought it was worth 30K. Awesome car for us but I was glad I was just leasing with resale like that. I think the VW Phaeton dragged down the market for them since they are built with the same parts.

My Uncle bought a new S550 in December from MB Palm Beach for 5% off sticker so they will discount the new S.

pm203 03-04-2007 10:48 PM

You are smart to lease. I see so many Benz, BMW, Audi values that have dropped significantly. There isn't a manufacturer that is insulated against such heavy depreciation.

I wish you could lease boats! :D I like to know my cost to drive before leaving the lot!

There is a boat dealer in Boston ( Russo Marine)that will lease you a boat. He sells small boats to large cruisers and writes his own paper!

smithimports.com 03-05-2007 08:36 AM

The CLS is indeed soft but the S550 are selling very well. Every S550 we have had sold in just a few days.

Tazz 03-05-2007 09:39 AM

A two year old A8 is the best bang for the buck of any luxury car out there IMO.

I know it's hard to believe, but you are right again.:D

RARMSTRONG 03-05-2007 10:33 AM

Good luck Andy. i hope to talk to you when i sell mine.

sellsman11 03-05-2007 10:59 AM

I have followed this issue and indirectly been a part of it from the beginning. Through all of the posts I have read and things that I have been told, this is what continued to go through my head........So let me get this straight...Cigarette decides to build a boat to run at Poker Run's and offer customer demo's and in general be the face of Cigarette for the entire season.....and they decided that they should build this boat to be less of a boat than what they normally produce?????!!!!! UNBELIEVEABLE that someone would even accept that as the "possible truth". If anything, I would expect Cigarette to make it MORE of a boat. Anyone that has met Skip or Neil or Tim or whoever at Cigarette should know that there is no half-azz doing anything at Cigarette. They build the nicest boats, they have the nicest displays at boat shows, hell...their tow trucks are even a little nicer than the norm!! I ran with Tim in this boat at Lake Cumberland and can assure you that the boat performs and looks EXACTLY what we have grown accustomed to from Cigarette.....PERFECT!!!!!!

Good luck Andy with your boat, whether it be selling it or riding it! I look forward to running with you this summer!

I like the CLS better for myself, but not the best choice for changing my kids diaper in the backseat (no room). The wife would be pissed! I know you could get a few deals on the rear wheel drive only S but not the 4 matic. However, if you decide to liquidate one like the Cig, I'll take one.:D :drink:

I have always liked the CLS, until I drove one for several days. The A6 4.2Q S-Line is so much nicer to drive. I coudn,t wait to get out of it.

Yeah i know, but that gun would be sweet and since i don't know of anyone that would be interested in buying mine i'll just have to keep it. besides if i did buy the 07 that would mean no new motorhome.

dukenrock 03-09-2007 07:41 AM
