This one might be worth checking out.

Has been owned by several members here on offshoreonly and I haven't read a bad word about the boat.

I restored that boat from a bare hull and used it for two seasons. It's had some nice upgrades(K-Planes) since then...

If yuo have any questions, let me know.

Rebar's black 28 should be on the market...

Hi Sean -

I know you rerigged that 28 Cig with Bravo's. I'm in the midst of putting Bravo Imco Xr's on a 28 Cigarette. What depth below the bottom of the hull did you set the prop shafts at? What speed did you acheive with what horsepower? How well did it jump on plane?

Thanks, Barry

Sean 03-09-2007 02:19 PM

Barry,

It's been a while, let me check to see if i have any notes....

I know we set it pretty high and the boat jumped on plane with no blowout...

we ran 67 with 300hp per side and 24" bravo 1 props at about 4900 rpms... the props needed to be labbed and the boat would probably have seen 70.

Sean,

Sound like someone is taking this speed topic seriously. You did a great job on the 28' and your 35'.

LOL...I never lie about speeds... In fact, everyone at the shop had a pool going regarding the speeds when the boat was finished...I lost! I said it would do 65 :)

Thanks for the compliments Andy...

I finished my 16 Superboat center console this winter and ran it 2 weekends ago...
Now I've got to get going on the 16 Donzi and the 20 Cigarette... :)

but first...time to use the 35...all work and no play...:D :D

I'll post some pics as soon as I get the 35 out of the barn...with those new 496s it may not be the fastest, but at least i aint sittin at the dock... :)

enough about me...what have you been working on lately... fill us in!

28 Cigarette

Sean,

Been tossing around a few things. I have the opportunity to pick up another 28 that needs a complete restore or just buy one that is already complete. Your old boat is a thought or maybe the one up at J&J in Prot Clinton, Ohio. Done with 400HP small blocks and bravo's. Still trying to figure out finances.
