I would think that with your slip, you might want to try a pair of 5 blades. If the X is higher you can either go with a spacer or more blades.

I'd talk to BBLades and see if a set of Maximus props don't get your slip number down. I think that Beerman ran somewhere in the mid and maybe upper 700hp range and he ran 90+ at the shootout.

Also have you dynoed your engines to see what they actually make for power? 800HP seems like a lot for those motors at 5250 RPM. I'm far from an expert so I can only go on my experience and both my chief dyno (before I bough the boat) and Boyd after the rebuilds had my motors making near 700hp in the mid to upper 5000 range.

The only other thing I can think of is mine, Tanners, Randys and I think seahawks are all kevlar boats so there might be a weight difference too.

I dont get it how are you guy's getting the prop slip down that low???? I'm running 796hp simular set up and about 26% slip at 5250rpm at 83mph with labbed 34s or the same speed with more trim with 32s and 81 with 30s and I also have a set of labbed 28s all bravo 1s
The boat is a 96 Top Gun full cabin with Xr drives
I dont know what to try next any help
Don

I have 30s on mine and turn 5400 at 82 w/ 19% slip. I think the 28s turning 5600 at 84 would be 18% slip. It seems to me that the smaller props would allow you to go faster and the bigger ones would allow you to have a better mid range. I don't know about you guys but I don't drive at top speed very much:drink:

Tyler Crockett dynoed the motors last spring they went over the top at 5250rpm and 880ftlbs at 3300rpm the combo I got from Dustin Whipple I talked to Brad at BBlades and I'll try a few more props thes summer but he was kinda stumped Throttle Up labbed my 34s but that new prop they have sounds interesting
